GEOGRAFICAL SITE, LOCATION AND THE MOST IMPORTANT GEOGRAFICAL ACCIDENTS

   El Castell de Guadalest is a small village of only 204 inhabitants situated in the north of the Marina Baixa county in Alicante.

   It is located in a valley with the same name, and it is surrounded by the highest mountains in the area. To the north you can find Sierra Xortà (1126 m), to the south is the Sierra Aitana (1558 m), and to the west you can find the Sierra Serrella (1361 m).

   The altitude is 595 m, and its most representative heights are: El Parats (1147 m), El Morro Blau (1124 m), and El Morro Blanc (1084 m).

   The boundaries are the following: to the north Castell de Castells,to the east Bolulla and Callosa d'En Sarrià, to the west Benimantell, and to the south Benimantell and Polop de la Marina. The municipality of Guadalest covers an area of 16'12 km².

   The climate of this region is Mediterranean, although it is quite different from the coast. In winter it is cooler, but in the summer it is warm and pleasant.

   There are two very simple ways to get to El Castell de Guadalest:
     1-. Take the road CV-70 in La Nucia or Polop de la Marina and follow the signs to Guadalest.
     2-. You can also take the road CV-755 in Altea la Vella to Callosa d’En Sarrià and then to El Castell de Guadalest.

   The distance to the nearest towns and cities are:

  •   Benidorm to El Castell de Guadalest 24 Km.
  •   Alicante to El Castell de Guadalest 63 Km.
  •   Valencia to El Castell de Guadalest 116 Km.
